"Partners of ADF personnel are over-represented in homelessness statistics, especially in older years.

A typical ADF career consists of different posting cycles across Australia; with the frequent relocations disrupting spouses’ education and career prospects. This entrenches financial disadvantage, leading to adverse economic outcomes compared to the general population.

Australian Veteran News discussed this issue with Mikaela Stafrace, CEO of WomenCan Australasia - The Placement Circle. She’s leading a program that connects education and employment opportunities to the partners of ADF personnel. The goal is to overcome the disruption caused by relocating, enabling economic independence later in life." - Australian Veteran News
